Jesusita Villegas

Jesusita "Susie" Villegas of Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, on Thursday, February 3, 2022, at Covenant HealthCare - Harrison. She was 75 years old. Jesusita Naranjo was born September 29, 1946, in Karnes, Texas, to the late Luciano and Teodora (Cruz) Naranjo. She married the love of her life, Basilio "Shorty" Villegas on November 7, 1966, in Plain, Texas; he preceded her in death October 13, 1998. Susie and Shorty moved from Texas to Saginaw, Michigan, in 1975. She worked as a maintenance worker with A!BM (Absolute Building Maintenance) where she was stationed at the Michigan Bell Telephone Company in Downtown Saginaw. Susie previously attended Trinity Lutheran Church on Ninth Street and later went to church with her son at Zion Lutheran Church on Hancock. She enjoyed being outdoors and was often seen sitting in her rocking chair on her front porch, working in her yard, and tending to her flowers. Susie also enjoyed watching her telenovelas every day. She was a profound and priceless cook and loved feeding everyone. She knew exactly how many cups of love, dashes of care, and pinches of kindness were needed to make everything always taste good. Above all, Susie loved spending time with her dog, Blanca, as well as her children and grandchildren. Susie left her indelible mark on this world through her kindness and generosity, for the love and care she provided all people, and for being source of strength and light to those she loved.

Surviving are three sons and one daughter: Basilio (Brenda) Villegas Jr. of Saginaw; Cornelio (Marie) Villegas of Saginaw; Luciano (Rebecca) Villegas of Saginaw; Maria (Albert) Garcia of Saginaw; 11 grandchildren: Alexandria Villegas, Maritza Juarez, Alicia Villegas, Sumer Garcia, Delia (Jareth) Glynn, Rosita (Marcus) Cuellar, Veronica Villegas, Manuel "Tino" Villegas, Albert Garcia, Basilio "David" Villegas, and Cassandra Villegas; six great-grandchildren: Brayden, Aurora, Isabel, Maya, Rosalia, and Marcus Jr; and long-time friend, DeeDee Riley and her family. Also surviving are many cherished sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by a son, Randy Villegas; and three brothers.
