Joan Margaret Chase of Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, on Sunday, December 24, 2023. She was 66 years old. Joan Margaret Lane was born on August 9, 1957, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Frederick J. and Frances J. (Mahoney) Lane Sr. She was a proud 1975 graduate of Chesaning High School and later attended Delta College graduating with an Associate's Degree in Accounting. Joan worked as the Director of Administration at Horizon's Conference Center, retiring in December 2022 after 25 years of loyal and dedicated service. The role of her lifetime, one she treasured and cherished above all others, was to be a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. Her little piece of heaven was spending time in her garden, especially with her grandchildren. Throughout her life, she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and sewing, creating many beautiful blankets, scarves, pajamas, and other clothing over the years. Though she could be strong-willed and a little stubborn, Joan will forever be remembered for her beautiful smile and wonderful sense of humor, for her energy, passion and enthusiasm for life, for selflessly loving anyone she considered family, and for truly living an amazing life filled with many beautiful memories and stories. She was truly a priceless and profound mother and grandmother.

Surviving are her three children, Eric Chase of Saginaw; Matthew (Brittany) Chase of St. Charles; Abbey Chase and her fiancé, Nick Bowers of Saginaw; two grandchildren: Delaney and Matthew Chase Jr.; siblings: Edward (Emmajean) Lane, Timothy (Janice) Lane, Marie (Edward) Quaderer, Robert (Barbara) Lane, William (Beverly) Lane, Catherine (Robert) Kersjes, Loretta (Robert) Delbridge, Joyce (Norman) Rushton, Josephine Rushton, Nancy (Louis) Connelly, sister-in-law, Elizabeth Lane. Also surviving are many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and Frances Lane Sr; two brothers, Frederick and Joseph Lane.
