Joan Mada Gianfortuna (Williams)

Loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away on Friday, March 31^st, 2023, in Saginaw, Michigan. Joan was born in Saginaw on January 29^th, 1933, to the late Alex & Beatrice (Hill) Williams. She spent her years working as a dance instructor for the Arthur Murray Dance Center in Saginaw, as well as the Salvation Army. In her free time, Joan enjoyed coloring and reading, and was an animal lover, spending her time with horses and cats. She was full of faith and a member of First Assembly of God, attending bible studies and attentively reading the bible with fellow worshipers. Joan is remembered as being funny with a great sense of humor, and as the nicest lady on the planet who cherished her family more than anything else.

Joan is survived by her children Larry (Dawn) Waldie, Diane (Waldie) Micale, Mike Gianfortuna, and Phillip (Laura) Gianfortuna; fifteen grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, and friends.

Joan was preceded in death by siblings Gary (Pat) Williams and Doris (Chet) Stoklosa.

A funeral service for Joan will be held at 12:00pm on Thursday, April 13^th, 2023, at W.L. Case & Co. Funeral Home, 201 N. Miller Rd., Saginaw, MI, with Rev. Bill Bodnar presiding. Visitation will take place at the funeral home from 4:00pm until 8:00pm on Wednesday, April 12^th, and on Thursday from 11:00am until the time of service. Cremation is to follow.
