Joe R. Crain Saginaw, Michigan Passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Covenant- Cooper. Age 81 years. The son of the late Heene Irlton and Mildred Alberta (Henderson) Crain was born July 21, 1933 in Grovesprings, MO. His first wife, Helen, passed away in 1980. Later he married Brenda Grillo, May 27, 1994. She survives him. Joe worked on the family farm in Missouri and at Buick Motor Div. General Motors and then in the Auto Repair industry with Montgomery Ward's Auto Service; as Service Manager of Blain Buick of Flint and had owned and operated his own repair facility and later managed repair shops for others. He was a very active member of Immanuel Bible Church of Saginaw; a member of the Kiwanis in Flint and Saginaw; and a Boy Scout leader for over 35 years where he directed many young men as they worked for their Eagle Scout Award. Surviving besides his wife, Brenda, are 4 children and their spouses, Cheryl Coleman; Teresa and Clare Grzeskowiak, all of Texas; Philip and Bonnie Crain; Randall and Gwin Crain all of North Carolina; his step-children and their spouses, Mark and Maureen Grillo, Virginia; Vickie and Norm Coggin, Colorado; Lisa Grillo; Valencia and Steve Briggs, all of Florida; Tim and Jamie Grillo, Michigan; 12 grandchildren, a brother and sister and their spouses, Charles and Patty Crain; Dorthy Sowards, all of Springfield, MO; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Wilba Hopkins. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 12, 2014, at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Saginaw.
