Joel Poynter

Passed away on Sunday June 16, 2019 at the age of 66 years. Joel was born on January 29, 1953 to the late William and Genevieve (Krause) Poynter. He was a graduate of Roseville High School and later married Connie Persons on April 16, 1994 in Saginaw, Michigan, she survives him. The couple shared 25 years together. Joel was an employed as a design engineer in the automotive industry for over 30 years. He was a member of the Lake County Republican Party for 5 years. Joel enjoyed working on all types of cars, but also loved to relax and read a good book. He is survived by his four children; Jacob (Christina) Poynter, Joshua Poynter, Patrick Gray, and Michael (Tiffany) Gray; his grandchildren Gabriel Poynter, Adelaide Poynter, Geraldine Poynter, Madeline Poynter, Louis Poynter, Matthew Gray and Emma Gray. Joel is also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as his siblings Bill (Sandy) Poynter, Fred (Sandy) Poynter, Ed (Linda) Poynter, and Susan (Gary) Domonkos. A funeral service will take place at 12:00 noon on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at W.L. Case and Company, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 am the time of the service. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Pastor Korte will officiate. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the family or a charity of their choice.
