John C. Gudaitis

GUDAITIS, JOHN C. Hemlock, Michigan. Beloved husband, father, and grandfather entered Heaven on Sunday, April 6, 2014, at his home, surrounded by his loved ones, following a two year battle with cancer. Age 68 years. The son of the late John and Lucy (Walderzak) Gudaitis, John was born on December 15, 1945 in Saginaw, Michigan. He graduated from Hemlock High School the class of 1964. He married his high school sweetheart Bernice (Zabel) Gudaitis on November 13, 1965. John worked at Eaton Manufacturing for 38 years and then at Sears for 5 years. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Hemlock. John served on the Hemlock School Board, Richland Township Board, Zion Lutheran Stewardship Board, Saginaw Eaton Credit Union Board, and was a past member of the Hemlock Lions Club. He enjoyed farming, boating, riding his Harley Davidson, and spending time with his family and friends. Surviving are his wife, Bernice, and their children, Christine (Greg) McMahon, Hemlock, and Matthew Gudaitis, Farmington Hills; the love of his life, his granddaughter, Gracen Emily McMahon; brother-in laws, Daniel (Violet) Zabel, Carl (Sharon) Zabel; sister-in-laws, Marcella (John) Bremer, Patricia Godwin, Elaine (Jim) Edwards; also many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by his sister, Sally (Welcome) Collver and brother-in-law, Gerald Godwin. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at U of M Hospital, Hospice, numerous relatives and friends for the cards and visits. Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 11, 2014 at Zion Lutheran Church, 17927 Dice Rd., Hemlock. Rev. Paul A. Hauser will officiate with private entombment at Oakwood Mausoleum. Friends may visit with the family at the W.L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd., on from 1:00-9:00 p.m. Thursday and on Friday, at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of funeral service.
