John was born December 3, 1931, son of the late Roy and Ruth (Wacker) Taylor, in Saginaw. He was a graduate of Arthur Hill High School, Class of 1950 and was a member of the football team. John enjoyed the outdoors, whether it was hunting, fishing or even searching for old lumberman’s logs from the Saginaw River. The Saginaw Castle Museum currently has one of his finds on display. John was an avid coin collector, a man of faith and a former member of Grace Lutheran Church. He was generous and thoughtful throughout the years. Despite his declining health, John maintained a positive outlook and never complained.

Surviving are his sons, Matthew (Lisa) Taylor and Scott Taylor; cousins, Sue (Howard) Bank and Carol (Pat) McKee; many special second cousins; special friends, Phil and Judy Walker and Kerrie Blackney.
