Beloved son, brother, uncle and friend went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 21, 2017 after a courageous fight with cancer at the age of 57 years. The son of Shirley (Masch) Pankow and the late Rev. Edward Pankow was born on December 17, 1959 in Saginaw. John loved working at Kerkau Manufacturing where he was currently employed. He was an active member of St. Peter Lutheran Church and taught Sunday school for over 25 years. He enjoyed traveling and most especially enjoyed time spent with his family, friends and his work family at Kerkau. Surviving besides his mother, Shirley, are his siblings: David (Kae) Pankow, Paul Pankow, Susan (Tiger) Holtrop, his nieces and nephews: Janae (Dallas) Smock, Sarah (Derek) Hirschman, John Holtrop, Jacob Holtrop, three great-nephews: Bodhi, Barrett, and Bridger and many dear friends. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 2461 N. Raucholz Rd. Rev. Dr. William L. Morris will officiate with burial at Richland Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Monday and at church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral.
