John Edward Conklin, Jr. of Bridgeport, Michigan

Beloved father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, August 11, 2022, at Covenant HealthCare – Cooper. He was 68 years old. John Edward Conklin, Jr. was born January 17, 1954, the second of five children born to John Edward and Wanda Jean (Bubel) Conklin. John was a truck driver his entire life, having the great privilege of loving his work and traveling throughout the country. He also volunteered to drive in Iraq following the Gulf War. As a young man, John enjoyed fishing, but throughout his life he found peace and tranquility being upstate at the family trailer hunting. Above all, he loved and cherished his family, especially his mother, children and grandchildren. He will forever be remembered for his hard work ethic, his ability to design, create, and remodel his entire home by himself, and for always being present and supportive toward his family.

Surviving are four children: Robert Edward (Dorey) Conklin of Bridgeport; Julie Ann Sian of Saginaw; James John (Karrie) Conklin of Carrollton; Jennifer Rebecca Conklin of Bridgeport; 11 grandchildren: Morgan Progler, David (Mikayla) Sian, Jr., Cheynne Sian, Jacob Sian, Justin Jamrog, Matthew Jamrog, Alexandrea Conklin, Robert Conklin, Ahna Conklin, Mariyah Luera, and Kaiden Conklin; mother, Wanda Jean Conklin of Bridgeport; four siblings: Sandy (Bob) Bierlein of Saginaw; Wade (Christine) Conklin of Bridgeport; Ann (Ed) Hall of Pittsburgh, PA; Diane (Don) Miller of Saginaw. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Edward Conklin, Sr.

A Funeral Service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 15, 2022, at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 5700 Dixie Highway. Rev. Matt Coppess will officiate. Burial will follow at Assumption BVM Cemetery in Bridgeport. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Monday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
