Husband of his beloved wife Margaret Anne (Pastorius) Cuthbertson passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2020 at the age of 86 years.

John was born in Saginaw on February 14, 1934 to the late James T. and Ruby L (Sharpe) Cuthbertson. John lived in Saginaw nearly his entire life. He married Margaret Anne Pastorius on August 5, 1956 in Lincoln Park, Michigan. He and Margaret have seven children; Jeffrey Cuthbertson, Jill Cuthbertson, Karen (Richard) Cuthbertson Middleton, Catherine Cuthbertson, Andrew Cuthbertson, William (Kathleen) Cuthbertson and Daniel (Cathleen) Cuthbertson. They have 20 grandchildren. He was a good father, a faithful husband, a dear brother and a follower of Christ Jesus.

Survived by his sister, Fay Harris (San Diego, CA). He was pre-deceased by his brothers James and Robert Cuthbertson and his sister Lorraine Stranding.

John graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1952. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University in 1956 and his Master’s degree in 1964. He was in education for 47 years, finishing his career at Nouvel Catholic Central as Assistant Principal and 23 years as Principal at Swan Valley High School. As a member of Midland Baptist Church he was involved in the work of his savior Christ Jesus and the Rock of Ages Prison Ministries. Luke 19:13

A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 19, 2020 at Midland Baptist Church, 5009 Jefferson Ave, Midland, Michigan 48640. Pastor James Payne will officiate. Military Honors and burial will take place at 3:00 p.m. at Roselawn Memorial Gardens under the auspices of the United States Army and VFW Post #1566. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, June 18, 2020 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. and from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at W.L. Case and Company, 4480 Mackinaw Road, Saginaw, Michigan, 48603.
