Went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 11, 2018, at 3:15 p.m. the age of 65 years. John was born on July 16, 1952 in Klamath Falls, Oregon to the late Rowman and Alice (Gee) Tunnicliff. He served in the U.S. Army for ten years during the Vietnam War- stationed for three years in Vietnam where he obtained the rank of Staff Sergeant E6. John worked as a mechanic, truck driver and as a sergeant for the Waco, TX police department. He enjoyed working on cars, gardening and most especially enjoyed time spent with family and friends. Surviving are his children: Bethany (Russell) Mawby, Hastings, MI; Alicia (Adam Wright) Tunnicliff, Saginaw, MI; Aaron (Charity) Murray, Clio, MI; Karrie Tunnicliff, Panama City, Panama; John Tunnicliff Jr., Panama City, Panama; LaFrancis Tunnicliff, Waco, TX; his significant other, Sandra Sparck, his adopted son, Timothy (Lisa) Sparck, grandchildren: Andrew, William, Elizabeth, Elayna, Heather (Chris) Jones and great-grandchildren Kayley Jones and Taylor Jones and five brothers, three sisters, and several relatives and friends including a special friends Ernie Harris, Dennis, Mary and Henry Underwood. John was predeceased by a brother Michael Tunnicliff and two grandchildren: Joseph and Trinity Mawby. Funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 24, 2018 at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. with military honors. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral chapel on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to a local VA center or to the wishes of the family.
