John Essie George of Saginaw

Passed away on Monday, June 27^th, 2022, at the age of 78. John was born in Boley, Oklahoma, on January 30^th, 1944, to the late Essie & Myrtle (Stewart) George. He moved to Saginaw at a young age and graduated from Saginaw High School in 1963. John spent his working years at General Motors, retiring after over 33 years. He married Lynne Rieck April 16^th, 1971. John spent his free time fishing, bowling, and golfing, and loved to entertain friends and family at backyard parties. He also enjoyed taking cruises all over the world with Lynne. John is remembered as being happy-go-lucky and liked by everyone around.

John is survived by two children, Zuleika (Aaron) Little, and Renee (Mark) Johnston; and grandchildren Belle Johnston, Nicholas Johnston, Aareale Little, and Wyquim Harris; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, and friends.  

John was preceded in death by parents Essie & Myrtle George; brother Robert George; and parents-in-law William & Elsie Rieck.

In accordance with John’s wishes, cremation is to take place, followed by a private family memorial service at a later date. Those wanting to make a show of sympathy may wish to contribute to the Saginaw Community Foundation.
