John "Jack" Frederick Griffore II of Saginaw
Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at Ascension - St. Mary's Hospital. He was 71 years old. John Frederick Griffore II, was born on August 28, 1951, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late John Frederick and Bonnie Ione (Slabaugh) Griffore. He was a proud 1969 graduate of Douglas MacArthur High School. John met the love of his life, Constance "Connie" Lynne Urban, while working at J.C. Penney in Green Acres Plaza. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on April 28, 1979; she survives him. Through hard work and the motivation of his wife, John attended and graduated from Delta College with an Associate's Degree. For over 44 years, he was employed with J.C. Penney as a salesman and worked various departments throughout his tenure. John also worked for a year at General Motors Grey Iron Foundry and most recently as a monitor at Saginaw Township Center Courts. The role of his lifetime was to be a loving and dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. John was a longtime and faithful member of St. Dominic Parish, St. Stephen Catholic Church. As a young man, he played baseball, hockey, and basketball. His little piece of heaven was watching sports, especially baseball, and collected various sports memorabilia. He leaves his indelible mark in this world through his selflessness to anyone in need, for the fun he created with family and friends, for his ability to work hard yet always remain laidback, and for truly living an amazing life filled with many beautiful stories and memories.
Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Connie L. Griffore of Saginaw; three children: Brandon (Nicole) Griffore of Bay City; Stephanie (Marc) St. John of Kissimmee, FL, and Jessica (Cody) Kleppert of Saginaw; six grandchildren: Madeline Griffore, Ava Ryder, Tiara Wolverton, Sofia Anger, Layla Kleppert, and Corbin Kleppert; a sister, Delone (John) Howley of Saginaw; two brothers: Mark (Amy Hamp) Griffore of Alpena; Gary Griffore of Alpena; two sisters-in-law, Carol Schneider of Saginaw; Cathy Urban of Traverse City; brother-in-law, Theodore Urban of Traverse City.
Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, extended family, and dear friends.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the entire staff at Ascension - St. Mary's Hospital, especially Shawna and Miriam, for all the love and care they provided to John and the family.
