John "Jack" Howard Harris passed away June 4, 2016. Jack was born February 4, 1945 in Saginaw, Michigan to John "Howard" Harris and Maxine (Liebrock) Harris. Jack lived his entire life in the Village of Merrill, MI, 71 years, except for while serving his country in the Army, 1st Air Calvary. He was a Vietnam War Veteran. Jack enjoyed hunting, fishing and being with friends, but his passion was his Harley. He welcomed those who needed a home with a warm heart and opened his home to many. Over his lifetime, Jack was employed by the Merrill Hardware, W.L. Case Co., First Contracting, Wheeler Auto Parts, and Seeley Auto Sales. His lifetime part-time job was the handy man in Merrill. He helped all that asked, usually as a favor. He is survived by a sister, Carolyn Schneider of Fountain Valley, CA; brother, Rod Harris of Wilton Manor, FL; "his" niece, Jennifer Schneider of Pacific Beach, CA: and his extended Doan family. He also leaves behind two special boys that he helped mold into the men they are today, Nathan Fleming and Andrew "Chase" King. They held a very special place in his heart. A celebration of life will be held, Friday, July 8, 2016, 2:00 pm, at the American Legion Hall in Breckenridge. www.casefuneralhome.com
