John "Jack" R. Anderson

Passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2017 after a brief illness at the age of 83 years. He was born on July 14, 1933 in Shreveport, Louisiana. He served in the U.S. Army. Jack graduated from Michigan State University, where he met Carol A. Utter. They married December 21, 1957; she predeceased him on January 4, 2016. Jack worked for General Motors and later for W. L. Case and Company. He was a member of St. Dominic Parish, St. Stephen Campus. Jack was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Father Nouvel Council #4232, past president of the Maple Hill Golf Club and a member of American Legion Post #439. Jack loved to golf and spend time with his family. Surviving are a son and daughter: John R. Anderson III and his wife, Deborah, Swartz Creek, and Sue Ellen Anderson, Saginaw; one sister-in-law, Marian Keinrath, Plymouth; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Jack was predeceased by his father, John R. Anderson I, his mother and step-father: Helen (Miller) Wells and Frank Wells. Funeral liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at St. Dominic Parish, St. Stephen Campus, 1310 Malzahn. Rev. Steven Gavit will officiate. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. on Monday from 3:00-7:00 p.m. where the Knights of Columbus Father Nouvel Council #4232 will pray the Rosary at 3:00 p.m. Friends may also call at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral liturgy.
