McLean, John R. Saginaw, Michigan Passed away Saturday, November 8, 2014 at Covenant Healthcare at the age of 85 years. John was born June 20, 1929 in Saginaw, Michigan the son of the late Angus John and Clara McLean. He married Madonna M. Frederick December 6, 1952. She predeceased him December 2, 1994. John was a journeyman machinist and worked for several companies, including Saginaw Products, Jackson & Church and Lang & Leaman where he worked as an electrician. He also owned the family farm since 1952 and enjoyed operating his chain saw and log splitter around the farm. John was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed buying rental properties and renovating them. John is survived by his beloved companion of 16 years, Valerie K. Propst and her children and grandchildren; his sister, Ruth Bay; six nieces and nephews including Glenn Voorheis, Rex Voorheis and Robert Moldenhauer and their families. In addition to his wife, John was predeceased by a sister, Janet Voorheis. The funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 14, 2014 at W. L. Case & Company, 201 N. Miller Rd. Rev. Paul Hauser will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family at the chapel Thursday from 6:00 9:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
