Beagle, Joseph Acker Hemlock, Michigan Beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend, passed away Monday, September 29, 2014, at the Cartwright Hospice Residence. Age 57 years. He was born September 3, 1957, in Saginaw. He graduated from Hemlock High School with the Class of 1975. He had been employed in real estate management in Muskegon. His greatest love was serving as an umpire in softball and baseball, and had achieved his ASA umpire certification. He was pitcher for Midland fast-pitch softball and was also a basketball referee. He was a member of the Catholic faith. Surviving are his parents, Betty (Acker) and John Beagle, Hemlock; three sisters, Angela King, Port Austin, Michigan, Benita Snyder, Hemlock, and Catherine Krause (Tim), Hemlock; one brother, Thomas Beagle (Terry), Hemlock; fifteen nieces and nephews; twenty-one grandnieces and grandnephews; several aunts, uncles and cousins, and a special friend, Cody Munford, who Joe mentored. He was predeceased by two brothers, John Jr. and William Beagle, and by a niece, Ellen Beagle. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 1, 2014, at St. John XXIII Parish, St. Mary Church, 151 St. Mary Road, Hemlock. Rev. Fr. Steve Gavit will officiate with burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Hemlock. Joe's family will receive friends at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Road, from 4:00 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, where a parish vigil service, led by Mary Ann Nowak, will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening. Friends and family may then call at the church on Wednesday from 10 :00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
