Mulvaney, Joseph Lee Hemlock, Michigan Loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away Monday, November 26, 2012 at the age of 83 years. The son of the late John and Lela (Baker) Mulvaney was born on June 30, 1929. He married Joan Marie Kennelly on April 12, 1958; she survives him. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War in the 272nd infantry. Joseph and Joan and their family have owned and operated Farmer's Home Tavern in Hemlock for over 30 years. In addition to the tavern, Joseph farmed and retired from the Midland County Sherriff's department as a Lieutenant after 18 years of service. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hemlock and a member of the Hemlock-Merrill VFW Post #7302. Joseph was known as a hard worker, but especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Surviving besides his wife of 54 years, Joan are their children; Lela Margaret (Michael) Gronski, Mary Jo (Robert) Dye, Thomas Joseph Mulvaney, Jeffrey Alan Mulvaney, Phillip Peter Mulvaney, Steven Gary (Melissa) Mulvaney, 13 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and dear friends. Joseph was predeceased by his son, William Earl Mulvaney, sisters Betty Bailey and Jennie McLaughlin and brother Peter Mulvaney. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 29, 2012 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Hemlock. Military burial will take place at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery under the auspices of VFW Post 7302. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday from 2:00-9:00 p.m. at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. where a vigil will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friends may also visit on Thursday at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral liturgy.
