Joseph Eugene Loop

Passed away on October 09, 2024, at the age of 83 years.

The son of the late WIlliam and Lois (Weaver) Loop, Joseph was born on February 28, 1941, in Kokomo, IN. He proudly served in the United States Air Force receiving many decorations and medals, retiring as a Master Sergeant. Joseph married Carol Ann Neiderstadt on May 4, 1963; she predeceased him on April 15, 1994. He then married Darlene Zeitler on September 13, 1997; she predeceased him on February 1, 2009. Joseph had a love for aviation and was a member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) and Saginaw Valley Radio Control Club, Inc. He was also a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Hemlock.

Surviving are daughters: Rebecca (Eric) Gravelle and Cindy (David) Pretzer; daughter-in-law Deborah Loop; grandchildren: Robert Pretzer, Jenny (Lee) Hoffman, Andrew Pretzer, Brice Loop, Krysta Gravelle, and Tyler Gravelle; sister Electa Norris and her sons Patrick Norris, Andrew Norris, and Daniel Norris; sister-in-law Vicky Neiderstadt, as well as other relatives.

He was predeceased by a son, Joseph Loop; parents-in-law, David and Margaret Neiderstadt; and Adeline (Brewer) Loop.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Union Court and Residential Hospice for their care and kindness to Joseph in his final days.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at W.L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 201 N Miller Rd, Saginaw, MI 48609. Pastor Philip Loescher will officiate with burial to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens where military honors will be held under the auspices of the United States Air Force and VFW/American Legion. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral chapel from 9:00 am until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider St. John Lutheran Church in Hemlock.
