Josephine Silva

Loving Mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend passed away Monday June 28, 2021 at home with her family by her side. She was 78 years of age. Josephine was born January 24, 1943 in Detroit, the daughter of the late Julio and Aurelia (Medina) Torres. She married the love of her life Guadalupe G. Silva on March 17, 1962 in Saginaw. Guadalupe predeceased her February 17, 2019.
She was an active member of the Old Town Christian Outreach. Josephine enjoyed singing, and cooking for family and friends. But most of all she enjoyed time spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are her children, Guadalupe Silva Jr., Lisa Silva, Anthony (Terry) Silva, Patricia (James) Silva-Doran, Angela M. Torres, Martin J. (Crystal) Silva, Miguel D. Silva; grandchildren, Corey , Myah, Emilo, Julia, Michael, Alyssa, Katie, Meghan, Anthony, J.D., Mary (Zeke), Abby, Katlyn, Daniel and Derek; eight great-grandchildren; her siblings, Ramon Torres, Esther Harris, Marta (Juan) Cadena, Ralph Torres, Maria “Eliza” Hesse and Cruz Torres; many nieces and nephews.
Josephine was predeceased by five siblings, Minerva Hales, Paula Torres, Richard Torres, Carlos Torres. and Maryann Fulgencio.
Funeral service will take place 12:00 p.m. Saturday July 3, 2021 at Old Town Christian Outreach 600 Gratiot Ave. Saginaw. Rev. Donald Dinninger will officiate, with cremation to follow. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
