Joyce Kay Anaman, a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on February 14, 2024, at Avielle Haven Assisted Living in Midland. She was born in Saginaw, Michigan on May 25, 1944, to the late John Chapman and Sophie Chapman.
She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Saginaw, Michigan and Faith Lutheran Church in Prescott, Michigan. She was united in marriage with Arthur Elmer Anaman at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hemlock, Michigan. Arthur preceded her in death in 1999.
Joyce was a kind-hearted and charitable person who made a positive impact on the lives of those around her. Throughout her life, Joyce dedicated herself to various causes and organizations. Her generous nature led her to donate to several charities and contribute towards making the world a better place. She believed in the power of giving back and always sought opportunities to lend a helping hand.
In addition to her charitable endeavors, Joyce found joy in her hobbies and interests. She shared a passion for square dancing with her beloved husband Arthur. Together, they were cherished members of the Square Dance Club in Prescott Michigan. She was also a member of the Quilting Club of Prescott Michigan and enjoyed RV Camping. Joyce also had a fondness for bass fishing, where she would spend countless hours enjoying the tranquility of nature's serenity.
Joyce will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her children David (Wendy) Anaman of Fairgrove, MI, Kyle (Sharon Maxie) Anaman of Elizabethtown, KY, Susan (Troy) Fritz of Saginaw, MI; grandchildren Ashley Welzel, Joshua Anaman, Nathan Fritz, Dylan Maxie, Ryan Lebrun; three great-grandchildren Connor, Bella, and Elijah; sister Carol (Gerald) Stanuczeck of The Villages, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Elmer Anaman; her parents John Chapman and Sophie Chapman; and her sister Gloria Billeter.
Joyce Kay Anaman's legacy will continue to inspire all who knew her. Her unwavering kindness and generosity remind us of the importance of selflessness and compassion. As we mourn the loss of an incredible soul, let us also celebrate the rich and meaningful life she led. May her memory bring comfort and peace to all who were touched by her gentle spirit.
Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 18, 2024 at W.L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd., Saginaw, MI 48603. They may also visit with the family from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Monday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 5335 Brockway Rd, Saginaw, MI 48638, where the funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Deacon Jeff Rauschert will officiate the service with interment to follow in Holy Cross Lutheran Cemetery.
