Joyce Anne Murphy

 Passed away Saturday, August 31, 2024, at her home. Age 96 years.

 The daughter of the late Ruby (Phillips) and Robert Bennett was born November 17, 1927, in Richmond, Virginia. She married Thomas David Murphy, September 7, 1945. He passed away March 17, 2009. Joyce was employed as a secretary retiring from the Internal Revenue Service. She was a active member of Michigan Ave. Baptist Church and the Martha Washington Chapter #113, Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member and Past Queen of the Daughters of the Nile. She enjoyed her church activities and fellowship, traveling and playing Bridge. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

 Surviving are two daughters, Karen (Alfred) McChesney; Sharon Murphy, a daughter-in-law Christina Murphy; 8 grandchildren, Kathleen (Douglas) Jones; Kyle (Rhonda) Casey; Joyce (Kendra Fryer) McChesney; Beth (Mike)Goddard; Thomas (Stephanie) McChesney; Michael McChesney; Brian (Nikolina) Murphy; Stephanie (John Faust) Casey; a host of great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Joyce was predeceased by a son, David, 2 grandsons, Arthur David McChesney, and Jonathan Casey her brother, Robert Bennett and her son-in-law Michael Casey.

 The funeral service will take place at 4:00 p.m. Friday, September 6, 2024, at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Rev. Carol McCleary will officiate. The Martha Washington Chapter #113, Order of the Eastern Star will conduct a memorial service at 3:30 p.m. Friday. Friends may visit with family from 2:00 p.m. Friday until the time of the funeral service.
