Juan Gomez of Howell, Michigan

Beloved father, grandfather, boyfriend, brother, and uncle passed away unexpectedly at his home in Saginaw, on Tuesday, September 6, 2022. He was 48 years old. Juan Gomez was born on September 21, 1973, in Farmington, Michigan, to the late Juan Gomez and Christina (Knychalski) Lopez. He was employed as a machine operator with Hatch Stamping in Howell, Michigan. Juan was devoted to his Lord and Savior, Jesus, raised in the Catholic Faith, and found profound meaning by reading his Bible. His little piece of heaven was playing his guitar and listening to all types of music and various artists. Juan was a creative and talented tattoo artist, meticulously creating beautiful designs for his clients. He was a hockey fan and could often be found cheering on for his “Detroit Redwings”. Juan also had a green thumb. He could grow just about anything. Against all odds, he put all his love and care into growing a lemon tree, and to everyone’s amazement he was successful. Above all, he loved and cherished his family, especially his daughters and companion. Though Juan could be stubborn and equally as goofy, he had a kind, humble, and giant heart, often putting others before himself. He was a visionary, seeing the positive in all situations, even when life at times could be challenging.  He will forever be remembered as a light to all that loved him and for truly living an amazing life filled with many beautiful stories and memories.

Surviving Juan are three daughters: Gabrielle (Dylan) Ritter of Milford; Salina Gomez of Fenton; Angelena Gomez of Howell; one granddaughter with one on the way: Viviana Ritter and Oakley Ritter; his girlfriend and her daughter: Juanita Rodarte of Saginaw; Tina (Anthony) Rivera of Saginaw; one brother and three sisters: Robert (Ruth) Lopez of McKinney, TX; Ann Marie Lopez of  Allen Park; Deanna Lopez of Brighton; Teresa Keilman of Evart; a special friend and mother of his children: Deanna Skalski of Howell; special friend, David (Kim) Gardner of Taylor. Also surviving Juan are many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends too many to mention.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan Gomez and Christina Lopez, as well as his grandmother, Alfreda “Babka” Knychalski.

Honoring the family wishes, cremation has taken place.
