Banda, Juanita (Juarez), of Bridgeport, Michigan passed away early Friday, June 6, 2014, at Covenant Cooper surrounded by her loving family. Juanita was 93 years old. Juanita Juarez was born on August 16, 1920, in San Antonio, Texas, to the late Simon and Jesusa (Rojas) Juarez. She married Rafael Banda Sr. on June 4, 1945. He survives her. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Surviving are her children and their spouses, Rachel Castaneda; Rafael Banda Jr.; Olga Gonzalez; Ernest (Araceli) Banda; Nora (Tony) Barsenas; 28 grandchildren; 90 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Primitivo Juarez; several nieces, nephews and their families; son-in-laws, Raul Gonzalez and Adan Puga Sr. She was predeceased by a daughter, Maria Irma; daughter-in-law, Mary Lou Banda; son-in-law, Daniel Castaneda Sr.; Brother, Pedro Juarez; sisters, Maria Lena Rangel and Aurora Guevara; nephew, Adolph Rangel. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 9, 2014, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 915 N. Sixth Avenue. Rev. Fr. Frank Voris, O.F.M., Cap., will officiate. Her family will receive friends at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
