Judith Ann "Judy" Tagget of Spaulding Township, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 5, 2019. Judy was 82 years old. The daughter of the late Harold and Marian (Wheeler) Lovejoy, she was born in Elkton, Michigan, on Easter Sunday, March 28, 1937. She was a graduate of Arthur Hill High School, class of 1955. Judy married John "Jack" Tagget on April 25, 1959 and celebrated 55 years of marriage. Besides her parents, Judy was predeceased by her husband, Jack Tagget; her parents-in-law, Harvey and Agnes (Benkert) Tagget; her sister, Carol (Lovejoy) and husband, Charles Bell; her brother-in-law, Ed Hatch; sister-in-law, Marcelyn (Tagget) Castro and husband, Dr. Raphael Castro of the Dominican Republic; and brother-in-law, Robert and wife, Jeanette (Wesener) Tagget.
She is survived by her three sons and their spouses, Michael and Rosemary (Martin) Tagget; David Tagget, Patrick and Kathy (Rogalski) Tagget; two grandsons, Jack and Sam Tagget; sister, Karen (Lovejoy) Hatch; close family friend, Dr. Carl Angelo; and many nieces and nephews.
Judy and her husband Jack were fourth generation farmers maintaining the Spaulding Township family farm with their oldest son, Michael. She was a faithful member of Holy Family Catholic Church of Saginaw. Besides managing the family farm finances, Judy also served as Spaulding Township secretary, retiring in 2008. Judy loved watching her sons and grandsons play high school and college sports and performing in Saginaw Choral Society concerts. She also enjoyed fishing and camping with family and friends. The family wishes to thank the staff and caregivers, especially Ahmani Jenkins, at Covenant Glen Assisted Living and Covenant Hospice for the wonderful care they provided Judy.
A funeral liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 9, 2019, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1525 S. Washington Ave. Rev. Fr. Ronald Wagner will officiate assisted by Rev. Fr. Thai Nguyen and Deacon Roger Pasionek. Rite of Committal will take place at Spaulding Township Cemetery. Those wishing to pay their respects may visit with the family on Sunday, September 8, 2019, at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a prayers service held at 7:00 p.m. Family and friends may also pay their respects at the church the morning of the funeral from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Holy Family Catholic Church of Saginaw or St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital.
