Judith "Judy" Elaine McCool

Judith Elaine “Judy” McCool of Saginaw, Michigan, formerly of Montrose

Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Thursday, April 17, 2025. She was 80 years old. Judith Elaine Armstrong was born on Christmas Day, December 25, 1944, in Flint, Michigan, to the late Norman and Pauline Helen (Halbeck) Armstrong. She attended Beecher High School in Flint, Michigan. Judy married the love of her life, James B. McCool on July 7, 1962, in Detroit, Michigan; he preceded her in death on February 5, 2012. The role of her lifetime, one she treasured and cherished above all others, was to be a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Judy loved gardening, especially growing vegetables. For many years, she ran a roadside vegetable stand on M13, where neighbors and anyone passing by could buy fresh produce. Judy was an excellent crocheter and made countless slippers, blankets, purses, scarves, and hats to name a few. A lucky lady, she enjoyed buy and scratching off lottery tickets to reveal if she won a prize. Judy will forever be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor, for her love of family, and for truly living an amazing life filled with many beautiful memories and stories.

Surviiving are five children: Mary McCool; Harry McCool; Ron (Wendy) McCool; Connie Whipple; Terry (Julie) McCool; 14 grandchildren: Tabitha Snow; Tiffany McCool; Billie Jo Snow; Travis McCool; Autumn Gold; Zayne McCool; Sheila McCool; Jenica McCool; Amanda McCool; Brittany McCool; Nathan Campbell; Courtney Polk; Derrick McCool; Diego McCool; many great-grandchildren; two sisters: Margie (John) Newman; Paula Zarko. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends too numerous to mention, but held closely to her heart.

She was preceded in death by her husband James B. McCool; parent, Norman Armstong and Pauline Smith.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. MA Khan and the staff of All Valley Home Health & Valley Hospice Care for all the love and care they provided to Judy and the family.

Honoring Judy’s wishes, cremation has taken place with a memorial service taking place in the summer. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to All Valley Home Health & Valley Hospice Care or the American Lung Association. Arrangements have been entrusted to the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd., Saginaw, MI 48603.
