Julia F. Doyle of Midland, Michigan, formerly of Merrill
Beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at Riverside Place Independent Living in Midland. She was 101 years old. Julia F. Oros was the 13th child of 16, born on March 10, 1923, in Saginaw, to the late John and Theresa (Penzes) Oros. A child of immigrants from Hungary, she grew up with the many siblings, some were multiple sets of twins and one set of triplets. Julia attended Sacred Heart Catholic Schools for 9 years, transferring to Merrill High School in 10th grade and graduating in 1942. Following graduation, she married Martin T. Doyle, on August 8, 1942, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Hemlock; celebrating 56 years before he preceded her in death on February 10, 1998. A hard worker her entire life, Julia worked out in the fields hoeing beans, babysitting, cleaning her home, and ironing for extra money. She also worked at an elevator, a clerk at a grocery store, but ultimately secured a position at Dow Corning Medical Products, retiring in March 1984, after 15 years of loyal and dedicated service. The role of her lifetime, one she treasured and cherished above all others, was to be a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her little piece of heaven was spending time with her grandchildren. Julia's favorite pastimes included bowling, reading, and working on crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed walking, especially to the Midland Tridge every day. Julia civically served her community as a 70-year auxiliary member of the VFW Post 7302. She will forever be remembered for her hard work ethic, for her quiet, reflective, and selfless spirit, and for truly living an amazing life filled with many beautiful memories and stories.
Surviving are a daughter, Sheila A. (Richard) Tolfree of Midland; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Doyle of Merrill; four grandchildren: Amy (Jeff) Jaster, Bridget (Stephen) Champine, David (Brandi) Doyle, and Abby Davis; eight great-grandchildren: Ally, Ella, Eli, Ivy, Brody, Andrew, Kati, and Carson. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin T. Doyle; a son, Tom Doyle; a grandson, Timothy Doyle; and all her brothers and sisters.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Tammie's Crew: Tammie, Cathy, Pat, and Sally who were an immense help with her care; and to Carol Trombley who was "her ride" to lunch.
