Julia Josephine “Julie” Attridge of Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved sister and aunt passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 21, 2020, at Union Court Assisted Living in St. Charles. She was 93 years old. Julia Josephine Dechellis was born on January 3, 1927, in St. Charles, Michigan to the late Joseph and Maria (Daenes) Dechellis. She was a proud 1945 graduate of St Charles High School. Following graduation, Julie began working for Columbia Mills as a trimmer for roller shade blinds; a career that spanned over 40 years. She met the love of her life, Jack A. Attridge while attending a dance at the Golden Glow Ballroom. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on June 21, 1947, in Saginaw, Michigan; he preceded her in death on June 24, 2002. Julie was a former member of St. John’s Lutheran Church on Federal Ave. and a current member of Ascension Lutheran Church in Shields. She and Jack shared a love for the Shriners and its hospital and became lifelong active members of the Saginaw Masonic Lodge #77 where Julie volunteered her time as a Daughter of the Nile and a Masonic Jesterette. She was an auxiliary member of VFW Post #439. Julie was kind, loving, and embodied elegance and class, especially while shopping for clothing. She also enjoyed going to the casino. Julia will forever be remembered for her being a selfless, loving, and compassionate soul.

Surviving are a sister, Mary Alice Brownlie of St. Charles; sister-in-law, Lois Theile of St. Charles.

Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn (Edgar) Turner; six brothers: James Dechellis, Ken (Arlene) Theile, Richard, Dennis, Ronald, and Robert Theile; brother-in-law, Emil Brownlie.

A private funeral service was held at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Road. Rev. Julie Bailey officiated. Burial has taken place at Owen Cemetery in Thomas Township.
