June Rose Kreger, aged 95, passed serenely from this earth into Gods Kingdom on January 1, 2019, at the home of one of her sons in Bellaire, Michigan.
The second child of Alby and Delia (Wolfgram) Schultz, June was born into this world on June 5, 1923, in Hemlock, Michigan. On June 14, 1941, she married Walter L. Kreger (deceased), and together they became the parents of five children: Walter D. (Karen), of Bellaire, MI; Diane K. (Deceased); Brian F. (Peggy), of Seattle, WA; Daniel J. (Celia), of Oakdale, CA; and Randall P. (Ellen), of Hemlock, Michigan.
In addition to her children, June is survived by six grandchildren and their spouses: David (Kathryn) Kreger of Canton, MI; Jeffrey (Jennifer) Kreger, of Adrian, MI; Jessica (Todd) Lotozinski, of North Hollywood, CA; Benjamin (Rebecca) Kreger, of Oakdale, CA; Joseph (Kasi) Kreger, of Hagerstown, IN; and Sarah (Andy) Rodgers, of Lake Orion, MI; ten great-grandchildren: Jacob, Justin, Kayla, Jordan, MaKenzie and Kelsey Kreger; Samantha and Shane Lotozinski; and Cash and Amelie Rodgers. Also surviving June are her brother, Joseph Schultz and Ruth (Dale) Myers, and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, Walter, and daughter, Diane, June is preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers: Donna Kreger, Marian Netzley, Robert Schultz and Floyd Schultz.
June was baptized into and confirmed in her Christian faith at Zion Lutheran Church, Hemlock, MI, where she remained a life-long member. Of particular significance among her many works of service in the congregations ministry was her participation in its Quilts for Missions group, the Ladies Aid Society and the Lutheran Womens Missionary League.
Although having completed only an elementary school education, Junes knowledge of world affairs and her insight into their meaning flourished far beyond her academic constraints, and she became a true spiritual mentor for her whole family, always freely and eagerly sharing her Christian faith with whomever she met.
Junes family will celebrate her entrance into Eternal Life with a Service of Divine Worship at Zion Lutheran Church, 17927 Dice Road, Hemlock, at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 11, 2019, Rev. Paul Hauser officiating. The visitation will take place at 10:00 a.m. in the church narthex and continue until the time of the service. Burial will follow in Richland Township Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to express their love are encouraged consider a donation to Zion Lutheran Church or to the Mission outreach program which received so many of the quilts June helped create: Lutheran World Reief.
