Juris Sturis Jr.

Sturis, Juris Jr. Saginaw, MI Passed away peacefully from Leukemia Saturday, November 22, 2014, at the age of 80 years. Juris was born May 29, 1934, in Riga, Latvia to the late Hermine (Ozols) and Juris Sturis Sr. He served in the U.S. Army in the 82nd Airborne 505 Regiment. He worked as a pattern maker for General Motors for over 40 years. He was a member of the Latvian Lutheran Church, the RC Club, and the Latvian Club where he served as secretary. He enjoyed bowling, dancing, making remote control aircraft, and flying his own plane. He is survived by his children, Andrejs Sturis, Vija Hozeska, and Kathy (Pasquale) Ricci; a step-son Rick Blake, grandchildren, Aarika, Ryan, Katlynn, Nathaniel, Anthony, Maija; his beloved companion of 24 years, Pamela Morton; brother, Talivaldis Sturis; and his goddaughter, Ilze Hallman. Funeral services will take place at 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 1, 2014, at W.L. Case & Company 4480 Mackinaw Road. Rev. Robert Franklin will officiate with cremation to follow. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
