J.W. "Mac" McGrandy

McGrandy, J. W. "Mac" Bridgeport, Michigan Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother-in-law, and uncle passed away early Thursday, June 12, 2014, at his home. Age 85 years. He was born January 17, 1929, in Saginaw, the son of the late Louis and Lena (Jankowski) McGrandy. He was a life-long resident of Bridgeport. He served with the US Navy during the Korean War. He retired from Delphi and 1990, and also owned his own residential painting business. He was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church. He married Elizabeth "Betty" Junemann on April 28, 1956; she survives him. He also leaves five daughters and sons-in-law, Kim and Jim Peterson, Karen and Paul Cooper, Kandy and Mike Wright, Kelly McGrandy, and Kristine and Terry Erndt; eight grandchildren, their spouses, and great-grandchildren: Tricia and Jason Potts and their children, Delaney and Jace, Tracy Estrada and Justin Krick; Tara and Jordan Farro and their daughter, Alli; Karie and Denver Isom and their children, Messiah and Deasia, and another son, Jaxon, due in July; Jillian Peterson; Amy and Craig Matisoff; David Cooper; Alyssa McGrandy; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, JoAnne McGrandy, Ann and Frank Borsinek, John and Mary Jane Junemann, Carolyn and Ron Dilts, JoAnn and John Krause, and Ann Junemann; many nieces, nephews and their families. He was also predeceased by two brothers, Edward McGrandy and Stanley and his wife Kathy McGrandy, his parents-in-law, Paul and Otillia Junemann, and by a brother-in-law, Paul Junemann . Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 16, 2014, at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 3945 Williamson Road. Rev. Fr. John Mancini, OSFS, will officiate. Burial will be in Pinegrove Cemetery, Bridgeport, with military honors under the auspices of the Birch Run VFW Post #7542. Mac's family will receive friends at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 5700 Dixie Highway, from 2:00 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, where a parish vigil service will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday. Friends and family may then visit at the church from 9:30 a.m. Monday until the time of Mass.
