Karen Ann Williams

Beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt passed away peacefully on Friday, April 16, 2021, with her family at her side.
The daughter of the late George and Alice (Rogers) Niederstadt, Karen was born on August 12, 1943, in Saginaw, Michigan. Her parents owned Niederstadt Grocery. Karen attended St. Mary's Catholic School and graduated from St. Charles High School. She received an Associate degree from the Saginaw Business Institute. Karen married Lendell J. Williams on September 8, 1962; he preceded her in death on June 27, 2009. Between 1967 and 2008, Karen and Len founded and operated two successful corporations; Optico/Karlen Manufacturing and Lendell Manufacturing Inc. (LMI). She was an involved member of the Swan Creek Township Planning Commission, acting as secretary and later chairperson. Karen was involved in the Saginaw Country Club Women's 18 Hole Golf League. She held various roles serving as president, treasurer and historian. She also served on the board of St. Mary's Hospital. Karen enjoyed reading, traveling and golf. She was a gracious host and enjoyed entertaining. Above all, Karen cherished the time spent with her family.
Surviving are her two daughters and their spouses: Lynette and Tim Drumhiller, Lesley and Matt Becker, all of Saginaw County; seven grandchildren: Megan, Logan (Celeste), Madison, Chase, Morgan, Blake, Izzie. Also surviving are two sisters and one brother: Jan Walker, Roland (Judi) Niederstadt, Joyce (Randy) Lonsway. Many nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and former dear employees also survive her. Karen was preceded in death by her beloved father and mother-in-law: Kenneth and Pauline Williams.
A private funeral service will take place at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Road, Saginaw. Rev. Ted McCulloch will officiate with burial to follow at Garfield Cemetery, Swan Creek Township. Friends may visit the family from 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at the funeral chapel. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Charles Community Schools Foundation.
In accordance with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services ordinance, indoor capacity is limited to 25 persons at a time, face coverings are required, and social distancing encouraged.
