Karen Louise Willett

Karen Willett of Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend passed peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Monday, December 9, 2024. She was 63 years old. Karen Meyers was born on September 25, 1961, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late William John and Edith Lorraine (Livingston) Meyers. She was a graduate of St. Charles High School. Through her cousins she serendipitously met the love of her life, Thomas “Tom” Allen Willett. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on January 5, 1996, in Saginaw; he survives her. As a young lady, Karen worked at Meijer on Gratiot Road. She later worked as a lunch aide with Saginaw Public Schools at Merrill Park Elementary. The role of her lifetime, one she treasured and cherished above all others, was to be a loving and devoted stay-at-home wife, mother, and grandmother. She was baptized and confirmed within the Lutheran Faith and attended various non denomination and Baptist Churches throughout her life. Karen enjoyed playing Bingo, as well as games on her phone. She was creative and enjoyed crafting, creating many treasures of the heart throughout her life. Karen also enjoyed shopping at thrift stores, garage sales, and every store in between. Her little piece of heaven was wrapping her arms around her husband as they traveled throughout the state on their motorcycle. Karen also loved creating memories with her precious grandson, Nico. She will forever be remembered for her beautiful blue eyes and the silly faces, for having a wonderful since of humor and laughter that could be heard across the room, for making up her own songs by staying true to herself, and for truly living an amazing life filled with many beautiful memories and stories.

Surviving are her husband of 30 years, Tom Willett of Saginaw; grandson, Nico Thomas Willett of Carrollton; four brothers and two sisters: William (Pat) Meyers of Saginaw; David Meyers of Bay City; Emma (Rodney) Trumble of Saginaw; Virginia (Mac) Rodriguez of Saginaw; Arthur (Angela) Meyers of Saginaw; Alan “Jake” (Charlotte) Meyers of Saginaw; a brother-in-law, Ken Willett of Houston, a sister-in-law, Brenda (Bert) Klich of Bridgeport; an aunt, Charlotte Booth of Saginaw. Also surviving are countless nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and dear friends too numerous to list but held closely to her heart.

She was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Allen “TJ” Willett; a sister-in-law, Lynn Meyers; parents, William and Edith Meyers; father- and mother-in-law, Kenneth and Ruth Willett.
