Katherine Enid Longworth

Katherine Enid Longworth Alma, Michigan Passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at the age of 85 years. Katherine was born September 23, 1929 in Muskegon, Michigan to the late Nandor and Katherine (Klevering) Berg. She moved to Saginaw at a young age and graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1947. She attended Henry Ford School of Nursing, graduating in 1950. She worked for many years as a Registered Nurse, retiring from the Saginaw County Health Department in 1985. Katherine married Donald Longworth; he predeceased her in 2013. They enjoyed 37 years of marriage, living in Saginaw, Cheboygan, and The Villages, Florida. She loved to read, knit, and sew. She is survived by her children, Sue (Tony) Stempky of Cheboygan and Barbara (John) Snyder of Saginaw; grandchildren Joseph Stempky of Maine, Laura Stempky of California, Katherine (Alex) Kennedy of Leonard, Mary Snyder of California, Jamie Snyder of Florida; stepdaughters, Jan (Herman) Barber and Susan (Richard) Smith; stepgrandchildren Amy (Patrick) Ankenbruck and Cathy (Troy) Tolley and their families. She was predeceased by her sister, Marilynn (Arnie) Seling. A memorial service will take place at 2:00pm Sunday, June 7, 2015 at Masonic Pathways Doig Chapel, 1200 Wright Ave, Alma, MI 48801. Friends may visit with the family from 1:00pm until the start of the service.
