Kathleen Jannette (Bordeau) Edinger of Bridgeport
Passed away on Tuesday, November 15th, 2022, in Saginaw, Michigan, at the age of 88. She was born in Standish to the late Ernest & Katheryn (Irvin) Bordeau and was a 1952 graduate of Standish High School. Shortly after graduating, Kathleen met Richard Edinger at the movie theater and the pair was soon inseparable. The couple would marry on November 22nd, 1952, and spend nearly 60 years together. He preceded her in death on February 1st, 2010. Kathleen spent the most fulfilling years of her life helping raise her family with Richard. She spent as much time with this family as possible, camping throughout the region, teaching them crafts, bowling, and tending to her beautiful flowers. Kathleen made friends easily, was quite the storyteller, and was always there with a smile to say “hi.”
Kathleen is survived by her children Denice (Curtis) Cody, DeeAnn (James) Hartman, and Dean (Tammy) Edinger; and grandchildren Curtis (Sheri) Cody, Jr., Richard (Kimberly) Cody, Dustin (Amber) Cody, Amanda (Ryan) Fallas, Jennifer (Christopher) Kenzie, Jeffery (Samantha) Hartman, Joshua Edinger, and Trevor (Kaylee) Edinger; as well as eighteen great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, many nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her son David Edinger; and brothers Lawrence Bordeau, Sonny Bordeau, and Roger Bordeau.
A funeral service celebrating Kathleen’s life will take place at 1:00pm on Saturday, November 19th, 2022, at W.L. Case & Company, 5700 Dixie Highway, Bridgeport, with Rev. Dr. Douglas Jackson presiding. The family will be at the funeral home to receive visitors from 11:00am until the time of service, with burial to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Those wanting to make a show of their sympathy may wish to consider a contribution to the National Breast Cancer Foundation or the American Heart Association.
