Kathleen H. Mason "Kathy"

Our loving mother and companion passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, April 10, 2021. Age 60 years.

Kathy was born on November 23, 1960, daughter of the late Edna (Abbott) and Edward Shavkey, in Detroit. She enjoyed the outdoors, flower gardening with her companion, John and spending time with her family. Kathy will be remembered for having a big, loving heart and a big personality in a small woman.

Kathy will be missed by her daughter, Angela Mason (Mike Bauer); her longtime companion, John LaShance; sisters, Pat (Milford) Setser, Linda (Richard) Perry, Lucille Dunn and Vicki Singleton; brothers, Stephen and Michael Shavkey; also many nieces, nephews and other special relatives. Kathy was predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law, Edward (Darla) Shavkey, Jr, brother, Ronnie Shavkey and brother-in-law, Joseph Dunn.

Memorial service will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 17, 2021, at W. L. Case and Company, 5700 Dixie Highway. Pastor Ryan Ruppel will officiate. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.

In accordance with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services ordinance, indoor capacity is limited to 25 persons, face coverings are required, and social distancing encouraged. We appreciate everyone’s efforts to reduce the spread of covid-19 in our community.
