Kathreen S. Slancik

Slancik, Kathreen S. Saginaw, Michigan Passed away on Thursday, November 22, 2018 at the age of 96 years. The daughter of the late James and Mary (Bush) Davy was born on July 30, 1922 in Engadine, MI. She graduated from Saginaw High School, then served in the U.S. Navy. She married John "Chet" Slancik in August of 1947; he predeceased her on June 21, 1998. Kathreen retired from Saginaw Grey Iron Foundry after 42 years of service. She was a member of Christ the Good Shepherd Parish. Kathreen enjoyed knitting and crossword puzzles and was an avid reader. Surviving are her children: Michael (Susan) Slancik, Mary (Jim) Knight, Pati (Mitch) Thomas, grandchildren: Jeff (Wendy) Slancik, Jennifer Thurman, Jon Thurman, Denise (Ken) Sheridan, Aaron Kronfuss, Mark (Stephanie) Kronfuss, great-grandchildren: Zachary, Katie, Noah, Nathan, Mazie, Alexandria, Isiah, Olivia and Oliver; her brother James Davy, her sister, Mable (Galen) Grandy, and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by two sisters, Alice Andrews and Grace Davy. Funeral service will take place at 12:00 Noon Thursday, November 29, 2018 at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. with private Military entombment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral chapel on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
