Kathryn Elaine Pickard

Kathryn Elaine Pickard Merrill, Michigan Passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at the Cartwright Care Residence. Age 84 years. The daughter of the late Roy and Gladys (Swarthout) Miller was born July 19, 1929 in Breckenridge, Michigan. She married Robert Joseph Pickard Sr. December 1, 1948. He passed away April 29, 1990. Kathryn had been employed by Michigan Metals, Merrill Dairy Bar, Redmond's Service and the Hemlock Duck Farm before retiring from Dow Corning Corp in 1988. She was a member of Merrill Congregational Church and enjoyed going to the Casino, Bingo and was an avid NASCAR fan. She spent her summers in Glennie for over 60 years. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Jim Moulton; a daughter-in-law and her husband, Linda and Maynard Davis; a grandson and his wife, Jason and Molly Pickard; 2 sisters, Norma Kocsis, Karen and Larry Miller; a nephew and his wife, Craig and Mary Anne Kocsis; a sister-in-law and her husband, Rose and Chet Hill; several great nieces and great nephews; her special family friends, Tina and Sabrina Harris, Jim (Buster) Anderson. A son, Robert Pickard Jr. and a brother-in-law, Louis Kocsis, her cousin, Betty Morningstar, have predeceased her. The funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 17, 2014, at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, in Merrill. Rev. Richard Gossett will officiate with burial in Lakefield Twp. Cemetery. Friends may call at the Chapel from 2:00-5:00 and 6:00-9:00 p.m. Friday.
