Kay York

Hemlock, Michigan

Beloved mother, grandmother, and great-mother passed on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at Covenant Medical Center Cooper, with her family at her side. Age 81 years.

The daughter of the late David “Red” and Francis (Yackel) Paulus, Kay was born on April 29, 1943, in Saginaw, Michigan. She graduated from Arthur Hill High School with the class of 1961. Kay married Alexander Samuel York on July 11, 1964. He preceded her in death on January 16, 1999. She retired from Dow Chemical after 25 years of loyal and dedicated service. Kay was a former member of Second Presbyterian Church. She loved her grandchildren, proudly watching them participate in sports and cheering them on with unwavering support. Her affection extended to her beloved pets, including her schnauzers, dachshunds, orange cats, and quarter horses, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

Surviving are her son and daughter, Alexander Samuel York II, Robin (York) Leiner; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and many grand-pets. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and loved ones. Besides her husband and her parents, Kay was preceded in death by her brothers, David and Marlin; brother and sister-in-law, Alex and Margaret York.

Funeral service will take place at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 201 N. Miller Rd, Saginaw, MI 48609. Rev. Rob Richards will officiate. Burial will take place at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service on Sunday at the funeral chapel.
