Keith Byron Downing

Downing, Keith Byron Saginaw, Michigan Passed away with his family by his side on Thursday, October 30, 2014. Age 56 years. Son of the late Ivory and Mary (Cook) Downing was born on January 27, 1958 in Detroit. He married the love of his life, Connie Reynolds on April 19, 2003, she survives him. Keith was a police officer for 24 years and was a former member of FOP Lodge #128. He was a firearms expert and certified weapons instructor. He had earned a Second Degree Attunement in Unlimited Reiki Systems of Natural Healing and attended the North Star Institute of Technology. Keith was an avid jewelry designer. He made many pieces for his family and for various charitable auctions. Surviving besides his wife Connie, are his two sons, Darren (Stacie) Nowlin and Byron (Holly) Downing; his step-children, Erin (Ralf) Siemens, John (Joanna) Reynolds and Leslie (Julie) Reynolds; his grandchildren, Darren, Jr and Brittany Nowlin, Frances and Freddie Siemens; his siblings, Ivory (Leah) Downing, Theresa Smith and Margaret (Jerry) Aldridge; his very special friend and caregiver, Martha Alexander; also many other special relatives and friends. Besides his parents, Keith was predeceased by one brother, Rayfe Downing. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the loving care given to Keith by the extraordinary staff of Covenant Healthcare. Memorial service will take place at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at W. L. Case and Company 4480 Mackinaw Road. Chaplain Kathy Bonn will officiate. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral chapel on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. until time of service. To honor Keith's wishes, cremation has taken place.
