Kenneth A. Sawatzke

Sawatzke, Kenneth A. Saginaw, MI Passed away early Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at the age of 76 years. He was born November 1, 1941, in Saginaw, the son of the late Albert E. and Charlotte L. (Rauh) Sawatzke. He retired from the City of Saginaw after over 30 years of service. He was an avid bowler, enjoyed going to casinos, was an avid Detroit Red Wings Hockey fan, and enjoyed going to his grandsonss sporting events, especially hockey. He was predeceased by his long-time companion, Janice M. McRae, in 2004. Surviving are a son, Kenneth M. Sawatzke, Sioux City, Iowa; three step-sons and their spouses, Gil and Holly McRae, Clearwater, FL; Mat and Shawn McRae and Jay and Felicia McRae, all of Saginaw; grandchildren: Eric McRae and his mother Beth Czaplicki, Dr. Matthew and his wife, Jessica, Drew, Ryan, Lauren, Elizabeth, and Victoria McRae; his brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Joyce Sawatzke, Bridgeport; his sister and brother-in-law, Charlene and David Jones, Hamilton, Montana; Several nieces, nephews and their families. He was also predeceased by a step-son, Dr. Wes McRae, in 2007. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon, Thursday, August 9, 2018 at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. Rev. Robert Richards will officiate. Burial will take place in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.Friends may visit with the family at the funeral chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd.,, on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service.
