Kenneth A. Williams of Thomas Township
Passed away on Monday, August 19, 2019, at Serenity Springs Assisted Living & Memory Care Center. He was 102 years old. Kenneth Alvin Williams was born on December 29, 1916 in Herrall, Arkansas, to the late Water B. and Mertie Mae (Robinson) Williams. He married Ruby Pauline Roe on November 21, 1936; she preceded him in death on September 6, 2016. Ken was employed as a farmer and as a cutter and grinder for General Motors; retiring in 1978 after 26 years of service. He was a member of First Baptist Church of St. Charles. Ken was an avid sportsman and enjoyed turkey, deer, and bear hunting. He was also an avid fisherman. Ken also loved gardening, traveling up state, and spending winters in Florida.
Surviving are a son and his wife, Mick V. and Kris "Sue" Williams; daughters-in-laws, Ruth Ann Williams and Karen Williams; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Ken was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Sue Moore; three sons: Terry R. Williams, Lendell Williams, and Jimmy Alvin Williams; two brothers and two sisters.
The Williams family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Serenity Springs Assisted Living & Memory Center, Heart to Heart Hospice, and to his nurse practitioner, Jillian Rodney, for all of love and care they provided to Ken.
A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2019, at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Road. Rev. Darold English will officiate. Burial will follow at Swan Creek Township Cemetery. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral chapel on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to First Baptist Church of St. Charles.
