Joined our Lord in Heaven on September 14, 2018 at Covenant HealthCare-Cooper. He was born on October 24, 1937 in Saginaw to the late Samuel and Edna (Purdy) Howe. At the age of 10, Ken moved from Saginaw to Birch Run where he lived most of his life. At the age of 12, he joined his brother in law, Bob Metevia, on a trapline that lasted until the age of 70. In 1956 he married Margaret Heinel. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, going to the casino, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was employed by General Motors-Malleable Iron, retiring after many years of service.
He dearly loved his family and spending time with them. Surviving to cherish his memory are his two sons and daughter, Kenneth Samuel (Kathy) Howe of Oklahoma, Sidney Richard Howe of Pinconning, and Jeanette Howe of Saginaw; his companion, Judy McNinch of Birch Run; three grandchildren, Kendra Howe of Oklahoma, Kari Gassmann, and Michael Howe; two sisters and one brother: Alvina Babe Metevia, Delores Dolly Bigger, and Ronald Albert Howe of Birch Run; and many friends, nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his father and mother; his daughter, Janet Howe; his brother, Sidney Howe; and his sister, Sally Pogoreski.
A Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at SS. Francis and Clare Parish-Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 12157 Church St. Birch Run. Rev. Fr. Thomas McNamara will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit at W. L. Case and Company, 5700 Dixie Hwy, Bridgeport on Tuesday from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm with prayer service beginning at 7:00 pm. Ken will lie in state at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, those planning expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to a charity of the donors choice.
