Kenneth “Ken” Leroy Rosa of Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 7, 2022, at the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center. He was 92 years old. Kenneth Leroy Rosa was born on September 9, 1929, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Clifford and Esther (Nichols) Rosa. Ken proudly served his country as a staff sergeant in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He married Roma E. Kennedy; she preceded him in death on February 24, 1966. He later married Bernadette Tasiemski; she preceded him in death on March 1, 2001. Ken was employed as a Pattern Maker with Grey Iron Foundry, retiring in 1991 with over 32 ½ years of loyal and dedicated service. He enjoyed golfing and bowling. He was an avid sports fan and always cheered for his Michigan State Spartans, Detroit Tigers, and Detroit Lions. Above all Ken loved and cherished his family.
Surviving are three children and their spouses: Diane (William) Reese of Lake; Joy (Joe) Davis of Oscoda; Jim (Ana) Rosa of Fresno, CA; three grandchildren: William Reese; Nicholas Reese; Jamie (Scott) Janis; two great-grandchildren: Chase and Ashtyn Janis; sister, Joyce Ballard. Also surviving are three nieces, one nephew, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis (Merlin) Wiederhold.
A Funeral Service will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, July 15, 2022, at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Rev. William Hessler will officiate. Military Honors and Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens under the auspices of the United States Marine Corps and American Legion Post #439. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Friday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to a charity of the donor’s choice.
