Kenneth "Ken" W. Klink
Hemlock, Michigan
Beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Pine Haven Assisted Living, with his family at his side; at the age of 97 years.
The son of the late Vern W. and Hazel F. (Teed) Klink, Ken was born on June 10, 1924 in Ingersol Township, Michigan. Ken proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II, both in the Atlantic and Pacific Campaign. He married Paulina O. Trinklein on December 7, 1946 at Zion Lutheran Church, Hemlock. She preceded Ken in death on August 16, 1994. He was a rural route postal carrier for many years. Ken was a member and Elder of Zion Lutheran Church. He was a Livestock Leader for the Iva Busy Bees 4-H. Ken was instrumental for organzing Sandridge Drive for the Richland Township Park. He was a life-long farmer, Ken loved farming and enjoyed Polled Hereford Cattle. He also enjoyed hunting; especially every fall, Ken and his friends would go to Drummond Island for their annual hunting trip. Above all, Ken cherished the time spent with his family and friends.
Surviving are one daughter, two sons and their spouses: Thomas Klink, Susan and James Valliere, John and Ann Klink; one son-in-law: Gary Kreh; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; his sister: Betty E. Peek; and very dear friend: Bea Emery. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Ken was preceded in death by his daughter: Bonnie Kreh; and his brother: John D. Klink.
Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Zion Lutheran Church, 17927 Dice Road, Hemlock. Rev. Paul A. Hauser will officiate with burial to follow at LaPorte Cemetery. Military Honors will take place under the auspices of the United States Navy and VFW Post 7302. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 125 E. Saginaw Street, Merrill; and from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service Thursday at the church.
