Kenneth Louis "Ken" Taylor, passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2024 in Saginaw, MI. He was born in Lansing, MI, on April 8th, 1931. Ken graduated from Saginaw High School with the class of 1949 and later served in the U.S. Army after being drafted in 1952, stationed in Germany until his discharge in 1954. Ken’s career was as a pattern maker at General Motors Chevrolet Foundries and was active in the Saginaw Pattern Maker's Association. He married Kathleen H. Dubay on October 20, 1951; she predeceased him on September 7, 2022 after celebrating almost 71 years of marriage.
Ken was a man who lived life on his own terms, finding joy in activities like fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, and building projects. He treasured moments spent with family and took great pleasure in the company of his grandchildren.
He is survived by his children Lorie Rankin, Alan (Cheryl) Taylor, Kim (Nancy) Taylor, daughter-in-law Anna Taylor, grandchildren Mark Rankin, Nicole Taylor, Douglas (Melanie) Taylor, Beau Rankin, Erik (Laura) Taylor, Melissa (Michael) Uhlig, Jennifer (Keegan) Winkeller as well as 18 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Ken is preceded in death by his son, Kevin Taylor, his parents Alfred and Irene (Luscia) Taylor, siblings Doris Reed, Sandra Brooks, Janet Marshall, Donald Taylor, their infant brother; as well as his father-in-law and mother-in-law Alfred and Helen (Sautter) Dubay.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Fr. Steve Gavit will officiate with burial to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral chapel on Monday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 1:00 until the time of the funeral service.
