Kenneth Walter Wegner

Wegner, Kenneth Walter Merrill, Michigan Passed away suddenly on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at the age of 70 years. The son of the late Walter Herman and Bernice Mabel (Beyersdorf) Wegner was born on September 12, 1947 in Saginaw. He graduated from Merrill High School in 1965 and then graduated with a bachelors of science from Michigan State University in 1972. After working for the family animal husbandry business he retired from the U.S. Post Office as a rural mail carrier. Ken was active in the National Rural Mail Carriers Union where he held many positions and helped train rural mail carriers. He was of the Lutheran faith, attending Zion Lutheran and Immanuel Lutheran churches. Ken was a big MSU fan, especially football and basketball teams, enjoyed watching NASCAR and playing card games. Surviving are his wife, Tanya, and his children: Dawn Wegner, Kenneth Wegner, his cats Buddy and Blacky, his friend and former wife, Diane Herman, his close friend, Dwight Cates and many other relatives and friends. Services are pending and will be announced at a later date.
