He was a graduate of Saginaw High Schools Class of 1943. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, being stationed in the Asiatic Pacific. Kos was happiest when he was tackling a chore for a friend or family, doing what he could to make others lives easier.
Surviving are one daughter, Julie & Joseph Ott; three grandchildren, Joseph Ott, Amber Weber, and Steven Cole; and two great-grandchildren Kendall and Ryan. Kos held his family very dear, leaving many nieces and nephews to cherish his memory, and very special friend Joan Behrmann. An avid reader, he was especially passionate about science and ancient history, always eager to learn and share his knowledge. Kos was predeceased by siblings Peter, Nicholas and John.
