Lance Armstrong Root

We are sad to announce that Lance Armstrong Root, age 60, of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 18, 2022, at Covenant Medical Center in Saginaw. The son of Wilford Henry and Norma Jean (Whaley) Root, he was born on July 12, 1962, in Saginaw. Lance graduated from Swan Valley High School with the Class of 1980. He spent many years working on the family farm in Thomas Township. Lance was a member of the Community Baptist Church in Saginaw, which provided tremendous support and spiritual guidance to him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Gregory Allen Root.

Surviving are his brother, Todd Root and his wife, Delaney, of Houston, Texas; as well as many nieces; nephews; cousins; and close friends. He is also survived by his beloved cat, Tiger.

Lance loved music and played lead guitar in a heavy metal band. He also enjoyed hunting, cool cars, and was a big Detroit Lions fan. Lance was a very kind man, and he will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

Honoring Lance's wishes cremation has taken place and no services are planned. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Community Baptist Church of Saginaw, or charity of your choice. Please share your thoughts and memories with the family through www.casefuneralhome.com.
