Larry D. Owen

Owen, Larry D. Saginaw, Michigan Beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away suddenly on June 26, 2014 at the age of 63 years. The son of the late Noel W. Owen and Irene (Boley) Maness was born on June 15, 1951. He married Lois Eckert Chapin on August 26, 1989; she survives him. Larry proudly served his country in the U.S. Army for almost 23 years. Since then he had been with the Federal Highway Administration working in the IT field. For recreation, he enjoyed rebuilding classic cars, playing the steel guitar, and working in his yard. Surviving besides his wife, Lois, are his brothers and sisters: Doyle (Barb) Owen, Sam (Sara) Owen, Bernie (Bonnie) Owen, Donna (Joe) Hughes, Wilda Nims and Debra Hancock. Left also to cherish his memory are 2 daughters: Kimberly (Adrian) Vasquez and Staci Bohanan, step-children: Lew (Lynn) Chapin, and Tonya Chapin, 5 grandchildren, and 2 step grandchildren and many in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends who will miss him very much. In accordance with Larry's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church 4705 Brockway with burial to follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens at 12:00 noon under the auspices of VFW Post #1859.
